Re: Zenon 60's Off-Set Bridge Modification
Yes they are different for sure. Although I think set up properly they can work well. On my CV Jaguar i had to wrap a little electrical tape around the posts to limit the "rocking" of the bridge. It still rocks but not as much - now it works great and stays in tune.

Re: Zenon 60's Off-Set Bridge Modification
Yeah my CV Jaguar has a similar bridge - but as I recall the studs were cupped on the bottom and the bridge has adjustable rods that are pointed on the end that comes through the bridge posts. You use an allen wrench to raise/lower these rods to adjust bridge height and the bridge rocks on these. Th...

Re: Zenon 60's Off-Set Bridge Modification
I found these cheap mustang bridges on Amazon ($9) so decided to pick up a pair of them. Once I got them I honestly have no idea how these are to be used. There is nothing to adjust the height of the bridge (the posts are hollow) and the bridge studs are open on the bottom. Maybe I just don't unders...

Zenon 60's Off-Set Bridge Modification
I posted on here a little while ago about how I picked up a pair of 60's Japanese guitars at a garage sale for $25 each. I did some rehab work on the Silvertone but the Zenon Off-set guitar has just been hanging on the wall waiting for attention. Japanese Guitars.jpg I've recently been thinking abou...

Re: IYV ILS-300 EGR (LES PAUL COPY)
Still have my IYV ISVG-200( SG with Vibrola). I've never seen them return since that initial run. Looks like it's back. https://www.amazon.com/IYV-IVSV-300-CHERRY-Solid-Body-Electric/dp/B08M8Y19MR/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1FWUWD322J0YU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.QljtBM6g9mPY6bZED4XeFpSrnVh2pWcil6AAEqeIghI8kqZG9L7...

My wife got me this monogrammed Sycamotre Customs guitar strap for Christmas. Finally got it out of the box this weekend - wow it's really nice. Well constructed and padded.

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?
I remember when the GS mini was the rage (maybe they still are and I'm not paying attention LOL). I think they're great - congratulations looks like that's going to be a lot of fun.

Re: NGD - IYV Les Paul DC Junior
A chigsby would be perfect to add a little weight to the body to fix the neck dive. IYV is made in Vietnam as far as I know. I believe the same factory makes some Harley Benton stuff. I have a few IYVs and all have been good modding platforms but definitely not perfect out of the box. Looks great, ...

Re: NGD - IYV Les Paul DC Junior
I like the shape and color, and it looks like it'd be fun to play. I have to wonder, as light as it is, whether swapping the tailpiece for a heavier one would help with the neck dive. Something to consider - I do have one or two wraparound tailpieces floating around that I could try. The body is so...

NGD - IYV Les Paul DC Junior
Picked this up on Amazon. I posted in another thread that I was hoping for three things with this guitar. 1. It arrived intact. 2. No neck dive. and 3. A chunky neck. Well I got 1.5 out of 3 on this one. The guitar arrived with no issues. It's described as TV Yellow but I'd say it's a bit more on th...

Re: I Do Not Need A New Guitar
Well it arrived - been on the go today and haven't opened it yet. Appears to be a single box which is concerning however the box appears to be in good shape. Let's hope that: 1. It's not broken 2. There's no neck dive and 3. It has a chunky neck. NGD post coming soon.

Re: I Do Not Need A New Guitar
They're actually selling this one on Amazon. Let's see if this picture comes through. It's pretty inexpensive so I don't have my hopes too high mind you. However that IYV Mosrite copy I had was surprisingly decent.

Re: LP Project
I'm about 97% finished with the guitar. I seem to have misplaced the truss rod cover and the strap buttons so as soon as they turn up I'll have it completely finished LOL. Beats me how I've lost them but if they don't turn up soon I guess I'll have to replace them. So to recap this was a garage sale...

Re: LP Project
Wow - fakes of even the cheap tuners. That's crazy. I did buy these on Amazon but it was from the Guyker store. Good news is they seem very good. Nice and smooth with no slop and the locking works well. I've used cheap lockers before and the high e and be would slip. Can't beat them for $28.

Happy New Year! Started putting the new tuners in - I've never tried their tuners before but they seem decent. Let's hope they work. Nice that they matched the existing holes.

Still doing some work on this one - installing a wiring harness now. This one doesn't seem half bad - full size alpha pots and a decent switch for under $20.

Re: Whats on your work bench?
I guess it's possible. It's actually a pretty neat guitar but the neck dive on this one is really turning me off. Also sounds like the car company is doing it's own version of a neck dive recently LOL. I need to make some so it's currently the one I like the least LOL.
