I have the Katana Artist and it sounds great an has crazy functionality. My issue, and it might be my settings, is that when I pay with the fellas, I am surrounded by 2 Marshalls, and onesies I cant hear my play..only during the lead boost. There is no easy answer on the Squiers as depending on year and manufacturer, they are all a little different. A MIM should come pretty close either way

Having owned the classic and the Micro terror, I would say I liked the Peavey more. You are correct about the MT…it is tiny, simple and does get plenty loud. Although my Classi was a beast. Blackstar HT1M I think fits most of your needs. I played one through a matching cab once at a GC and was quite impressed, but I dont know that you should buy one until you can try it.
