Re: SX advanced order
I'm pretty impressed by the build quality, other than lowering the action a bit, no setup was needed. Tuners have a bit of play and not as tight as Agile Grovers but not so bad that they would need to be replaced. Pickups are more than serviceable but of course, I've got a replacement set in mind. ...

Re: SX advanced order
These look so good in real life. I love them with black plastics, no pick guard.] Black plastic would look good with that finish. I wonder if the control covers are the same size as an Agile? $20 for a blackout kit... control covers seem standard How is your Callisto STD+ TBJ? Do you like it? Feel?...

I want it to ring well, unplugged. But, feel of guitar to hands, and sound plugged in are much more important to me. I do believe body/neck material cellular structure makes a difference.

Re: Do you rely on a pedal or your amp for crunch? (TUBE AMPS - LIVE setting)
I might use 2 cleanish .ODs on low-high....instead of stronger distortion.
Some fuzz, though, at times. Pickups and amp depending. I have a lot to learn, though. Often play straight in with pups that can get to growl.

Re: SX Strat - Neck Swap / Shimming Question
ld look for slivers (1/2 mm) of maple, ideally. Or other hardwood. Tongue depressor, etc. sanded down. If you or acquaintance has access to a table saw, zip off a sliver. Its going to be pretty small piece on the treble side, of course, as so much is "cutaway" compared to bass side where a...

Re: What is best deal on a cabinet right now
I tend to like the approximate 1/2 inch thick ply construction cabinets vs 3/4inch. I am guessing that is because I dont use 50-100watt tube amps, but less than 30 usually. The 3/4" Jenkins 212 I used to have sounded less lively for my smaller amp sizes. I also prefer a larger sized cabinet vs ...

I'm expecting a Fed-ex delivery...a usb-turntable. While its right on time, due today and out for delivery, I still need to wait outside to catch it before it hits the ground as F-Ex pushes it out the door on their drive-by. F-Ex has ruined an amp sent to me, dropped, chassis bent creating massive v...

Some songs I dont care for nearly as much as most others. I downloaded only half of the w/Jack Bruce tracks...

Re: Does anyone regularly do any "flipping" for an additional source of income?
Do you already have a cnc router? I was surprised at how affordable they are. Perhaps the programing side is expensive? I dont know. Or perhaps one can buy software for traditional shapes, and tweak those designs to suit? If you dont have one, perhaps hunting inexpensive wood blanks of exotic woods ...
