Re: My shed studio build thread

The sheetrock can be put up with a sound deadening caulking compound gooped up each stud, called Green Glue. It's effective. There are videos about using it. I've heard a bit about this. I find it very hard to believe you need glue to keep the sound from escaping tightly screwed drywall. Is it real...

That's a lot of sandwiches. On a somewhat serious note, what the heck do you do with an alligator after you kill it? I would imagine the skin is valuable for making into things, but do they make use of the meat too? Especially on a big ol' feller like that? I know that when harvesting deer, a big o...

I kept waiting for him to play the upper neck... the soprano guitar? I love that clip because Roy keeps up with Joe but is obviously working his butt off while Joe looks like he is about to nod off at any moment. The upper guitar is an octave guitar, dunno if that qualifies as a soprano or no...

I can say that my Fralin P90 in the neck of one of mine sounds much better with the pickup low and the poles adjusted higher.

I swung by the local turners just to see whats available and they had a tent ouside taking names and a line. Had a 1-2 hr wait. I asked if there was a better time he said that was the best time he'd seen in weeks. Sometimes 4 hours. He said get there before opens but then your waiting for the store...

I mow once a week at home, takes about 8-10 hours to do all of it, with a 60" commercial mower. Sometimes I just mow a couple hours a day to keep up. I mow up at the cabin every 2 weeks or so with the same mower and it takes 4-6 hours. Sweet Jeebus, how much land do you live on? I have about 1...

Nice score! That is a radial drill press. Super handy. "Radial drill press". You taught me something new today. I did not know these could do angular drilling, until I looked up this term - thanks! Yup, the upper pipe with the head and motor slides in and out like a radial arm saw. That i...

Kodak: there are several bits of Kodak stuff floating around, no longer the monolithic thing it was. One of these bits was rumored to be bought by some Asian fund or such, which did not include what is now known as "Kodak Alaris", a film division remnant. https://static.bhphoto.com/images...

Long story Long, Custom PG's are a huge PITA and can be expensive. I charged enough to cover the blank material because most of the time I made them at work while I was already getting paid to do my normal job. I wasn't doing it to put food on the table, I was more offering it as a service because ...

No. You didn't kill him. You did what you agreed to do when you took him in, whether you knew it or not, and that was to take care of him and do what was best. You did that. You didn't kill him, you stopped him from suffering. Humanely.

Sorry for your loss.
RIP Bonnie.
