Re: New Pedal Board ..er I mean Pedal Shelf
I have a pedal shelf, too. It's easier to fiddle with when it's waist-high. :) Quilter Superblock USA (Fender sounds), delay and tuner. Those go into the DAW via the XLR or a speaker cab with the 1/4" cable (besides being DAW-ready, the Superblock has 25 watts weaseled in there somehow). KIMG2...

Re: New Pedal Board ..er I mean Pedal Shelf
Ok final setup. Used a hole saw bit to cannibalize my Ikea birch shelf..boy those bits get hot even going thru an inch if wood. The place smells like I've had the fireplace going ..in Thailand ha ha. So far so good, everything works, the Tremolo, Delay, and looper thru the effects loop and the Boss ...

Re: New Pedal Board ..er I mean Pedal Shelf
Well..decided the built in overdrive was simply too inflexible as it was only on or off and there was a considerable volume jump when engaged which meant I had to quickly lower or raise the guitar volume when engaging or cutting the drive... Enter the venerable BOSS Blues Driver BD-2. The great iron...

Re: Robben Ford / Pedal Show w/Dumble
Robben Ford is a very intimidating guitarist. He's certainly amongst the most amazing, recherché players. When I hear him I'm incapable of simple enjoyment. I want to grasp what he's doing, to understand it and incorporate it into my own musical vocabulary. That has proven impossible. It's not just...

Re: Robben Ford / Pedal Show w/Dumble
I like Robben, but I really do NOT like that amp. My favorite Robben stuff has all been another amp or something acoustic. I have no opinion of the amp itself, only having heard it thru YouTube, really can't tell much difference from many other quality amps...but the story line of the amp, its gene...

New Pedal Board ..er I mean Pedal Shelf
Ok, got rid of the GP-200 LT, replaced with a few basic pedals. The Blackstar CV 10 already has a decent reverb and a foot switchable overdrive. I still need to plug these properly into the effects loop but need to drill a hole using a hole saw yet to accommodate cables to make it all neat and tidy....

Nafiri Music in Jakarta
I've always planned at some point to visit Indonesia. When I stayed in Malaysia, some of the nicest people I met were Indonesian and aside from that, it's proximity from Thailand makes it a no brainer. And now after seeing the Tokai MIJ inventory at the Jakarta store I'm absolutely going there wowza...

Turns out it was not that unusual...waiting for the Trini Lopez model with F-hole, and Fender orange tinted neck and headstock.

Re: Tech Question for Amp Gurus
Well my stated goal is to sound more artificial as my natural talents make my natural sound pretty lame. I guess I'm waiting for an AI neural plugin so my muscle memory can be replaced/downloaded on the fly. Monday SRV plugin, Tuesday Wes Montgomery, Wednesday Barney Kessel, Thursday Steve Marriot,...

Re: Most Unusual Agile LP I've EVER Seen
I'd guess it is someone's custom order from back when Kurt was taking custom orders. Taking the orders was fine, delivery was the problem Yeah, you are kind. He was not good at at taking the orders or delivering the orders. He was good at holding my cash in his account accumulating interest for the...

Re: Tech Question for Amp Gurus
This is a topic that hits me close to home because I came of age as a guitarist when rack mounted gear and the famous Bradshaw rigs were becoming prominent. Having one foot back in an era when great guitar tone meant plugging straight into a cranked Plexi, rack mounted units like the ADA MP-1 were ...

Valeton GP-200 LT Final Thoughts
So I just sold my GP-200 and while I still think it's a great pedal, here is why I sold it. The reason I bought the GP-200 was that I had the GP-100 in conjunction with a small SS Mooer Hornet amp. The Hornet was a decent enough amp but sounded just a bit sterile on it's own. The Valeton GP-100 made...

Re: Tech Question for Amp Gurus
I'm not close to being a guru, just used a lot of gear over decades, so take with a lump of salt... You're not likely going to get a very good line level match between a line out and an effects return, but you're also not going to blow anything up. If you can control the level of the line out from ...

Tech Question for Amp Gurus
Ok...a quickie tech question for you amp/electronics gurus
If I had a SS amp with effects, would it be possible to take the Line Out from the SS amp into an Effects Loop on a tube amp, with the stated goal of using the effcts on the SS Amp with the power amp and speaker of the tube amp ?

Re: Sam Ash To Shutdown Remaining Stores
I used to love going to Sam Ash in Edison NJ. It was a refuge, on Sunday's (as I did everyday) I would stay with my Mom at her nursing home and as my treat to de-stress I would head over to Sam Ash on my way home and ogle some Amps / Guitars / Pretty sales girl (I wonder if she's still there ?). I a...
