Re: THE ROMAN SPRING of toomanycats

Just checking in here after being away for a while. Glad to see you are still rocking @TMC even with your stalker troubles and all.

I dig what you say about wearing the correct attire for a show - maybe you need to invest in a pair of 'Daisy Dukes'?

Re: We're gettin' the band back together...

Hey. I haven't checked in here in a while but good to see you are all still here. I'm a big fan of BJM and Anton. The music isn't overly sophisticated but Anton has a brilliant feel for what makes a classic outsider tune. And he's as prolific as hell. I first heard of Anton a good few years ago when...

This is just epic. It's Norwegian metal and I'm not a metal guy in general but this is brilliant.

Re: Some familiar names are very quiet...

Sorry for your loss DonM . I haven't checked in here that much recently. Changed jobs in summer and have been very busy since. Was busy before it too. Took no vacations at all this year. Not been playing much guitar although I did start learning to play stuff in DADGAD tuning and ...

Re: Unpopular Opinions

I can't find people to remain friends with anymore. Maybe I'm just getting a head start on the "get off my lawn" phase of life, but people just don't want to have an intelligent, reasoned, yet still open approach to conversation. It's all such a competition - their story has to be better,...

Re: Delusional Musicians

I agree with the guitar over the head point as being the mark of the delusional. But I don't agree with your point about lyric (or chord) sheets. Loads of top class professional singers and musicians use prompters. It's actually a mark of their professionalism. I watched this Christy Moore gig on TV...

Have I mentioned these guys yet? Because I'm really digging them. I was supposed to go see them on their first US tour right when this whole epidemic thing broke; the show keeps getting rescheduled, so maybe someday... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-X8QkqrDeY Great group! 104 and still sharp as a tack till the end. A real good innings. Someday I'll watch 'Gone with the Wind'. But it's 4 hours long so way past my attention span. Although it'll probably be on a banned list if it's not already. Speaking of old movies I caught the 'The Big Sleep' on afternoon TV a few we...

I remember the 90s too. My first gig in 91 was writing Lotus 123 macros. That didn't last! Regarding the UC track. I think the money is in professional services. Integrations and implementations and ongoing management. Thinking among other things APIs to the big Enterprise apps (Salesforce, Dynamics...

@toomanycats Search for members named Vesa. I'll admit Facebook has a crappy interface for searching so its a bit of a chore. Any Vesa who posted or responded to a post re. lefty guitars is your man.

I doubt he'll come back but you never know. He seems like one of those guys who moves from one obsession to another perpetually. I suspect he's into growing Geraniums now. But you never know.
