Re: NGD X2, Agile edition

Those look great! I still play my 3100 often even though I have Gibson as well.

I also keep my eye out on Craigslist for affordable Agiles. Most are priced at or above new price

Re: Vintage Mighty Mite Screamers model 1300 Distortion: Best Ceramic Pickup I've Ever Heard

Not surprised you love this pickup. My 70s Dimarzio super distortion is my favorite pickup ever. Powerful, distorts well, cleans up well, no harshness whatsoever. Sounds great with the volume rolled back a hair I’ve been mulling looking for another vintage 70s Super Distortion but they can be kinda ...

Re: Gretsch Fidelisonics?

I’ve always thought staple alnico V pickups are pretty close to dynasonics. So if you’re after that sound that might be another option. This is from recent Gretsch dynas and my 72 Gibson 54 reissue with staple neck pickup. I’ve never heard a staple bridge pickup. The neck staple is also somewhat si...

Floyd’s are fun but a bit of work. Totally dig an LP with floyd. I would also love a lemonburst one

Re: "To Bigsby or not To Bigsby" that is the question

The les Paul bigsby with the tension bar built in (B7?) feels stiff to me and does not give you much whammy. The one without the tension bar on my Gretsch is MUCH better (B6?) but still not as good as a floyd. I never had any tuning stability issues with either - it’s not fighting a floyd. I took th...

Re: CSB Fade

Both of Tsuki’s were awesome refins.

Refinishing is quite a bit of work. It’s not hard, but it is an art unto itself. If you put the time in you can get good results. I did a few myself but it’s not what I want to spend my time on, I’d rather be playing guitar.

Re: Vaccination progress where you are?

Got both moderna shots. Glad to hear pretty much everyone on the forum got it My work is trying to incentivize getting vaccinated so we can get back to not wearing masks, but it’s like 50/50 with anti vaxxers. I was surprised there are that many. A lot are “I’m just waiting a little bit” whatever th...

Explorers never "feel" big to me. they feel better balanced than V's and LP's.

Re: Sigh. Botched reissue for Gibson. This time the 70's Les Paul Deluxe

My 75 deluxe is a monster. Perfect for hard rock and metal. I got it for less than 2k. I think my Agile AL3100 prepared me well for the weight. Neither AL or deluxe seem heavy to me The mini hum buckers were terrible. I’ve had P90s and other mini hums in there - all sounded better than the stock pic...
