Replacing nut
I have a lovely blond Doiuglas WNO, but the high E string seems to be too close to the end of the fingerboard, so that the string sometimes pulls over the edge around the 8th or 9th fret. I've adjusted the trapeze tailpiece, but over time the floating bridge creeps slightly, which I think is because...

Washburn has some nice low-price acoustic/electrics, or you could take that money and get a Takamine with Cool Tube pre-amp—really good sound …

Yay! Got it figured out with help from Sweetwater and Ibanez—vintage Ibanez pedals take negative center power supply with positive tip 1'8" plug. Hooked it all up, fired it up … bliss! Next I'll try running it all through the effects loop, see how that might be different. The Hiree Power Supply...

Re: New Inexpensive Amp Day
Well, the 12” speaker wasn’t the epiphany I was seeking—flatter tone, doesn’t seem to match up as well with the Monoprice, or maybe needs to be run louder than convenient in my little music room … Overdrive seems functional enough, not much control over shaping the sound apart from gain and volume, ...

Played for two hours last night. Big echoey café, slightly out of tune upright piano, string bass, trombone, vocalist. The vocalist and I were the only ones amplified. New Inexpensive Amp Day
So, my VOX AD15VT died on me on a gig—kept cutting out, distorting and wild power fluctuations. It was a freebie, so no big deal—some of the presets weren't working, but it was okay for a practice amp. Wanting a cheap replacement, I came across the 5core 40W SS, with an 8"' speaker for $89 on s...

No response under Vintage pedals subforum, so trying it here … Am setting up a pedalboard for the first time in years—my problem is that while my Behringer Reverb and EQ pedals take a modern standard barrel jack, my Ibanez vintage 9v CP-835 Compressor and PT-909 Phaser have the old 1/8' headphone st...

So, I have a Fender Acoustasonic 40 amp which does a great job with my Takamine classical with the CTP3 preamp. The one thing it lacks is effects, other than reverb. It has a balanced XLR output, and I was wondering if there was a correct cable to connect to the 1/4 inch input on my Mustang III? The...

Those of you who read my “I’m back!” post a few weeks ago might recall that I put my ’51 Fender 5A3 TV front Deluxe up for sale. It sold last Saturday, store check for $3k arrived today. Yeah, you’re right, it does shrink, even though it claims "non-shrinking " on the label … huh! The reason I went with it is that it’s water based, and I'm working on my dining room table, so want to avoid nasty fumes and such. Thanks for the advice. I think it'll do a satisfactory job, wil...

Anybody worked with this stuff? It's water based, and I believe it should be three parts dry filler to one part water … My friend gave me an old Aria flamenco guitar by Matsuoka, and it needs a little TLC. Have any of you worked with Gork's GoodFilla? A package of rosewood filler arrived today—seems like it might be 3 parts to 1 part water, how thick can it go on?
