Here is something I came up with tonight. This is where I'm at after 2 hours (from coming up with the initial guitar part to what is here) Curious what you guys will think! this was done in reaper, through amplitube using a 2013 les paul studio p90 https://soundcloud.com/helsinkirocks/ghosts?si=1ca4...

Re: Weird rigs
I've learned to never underestimate solid state Peavey gear. For dirty tones I'd recommend some kind of Marshall in a box pedal that emulates an amp and will allow your head and cab to be just a PA (which it actually is in your case). Over the years I've posted about different weird rigs of mine on...

So since COVID I've primarily been using amplitude and di software for recording, I haven't played live in 7 years so i hadn't been terribly bothered with having physical amps. But here lately, I've been having that itch, and I've kind of been putting together a rig of what I've still got left. So, ...

Found this at a local indoor flea market for $40. Looked over it, I didn't know exactly what it was, but I knew it was definitely older. I didn't see anything broken, or damaged beyond normal wear so i decided to grab it because it would be at least a cool piece to have as im a lefty. Doing some res...

Re: My 2nd Album is out now!!!
Ok so I listened to it and I will say that technically and production-wise it is leaps and bounds ahead of your last effort. Great job! There is a sense of maturity in the tunes. Thank you! I thought so as well! Sweet Temptress had a very Pink Floyd vibe which I loved I never considered that, that'...

My 2nd Album is out now!!!
Hey all! If you remember last February I released my debut album, and here I am, 14 months later releasing album number 2. "Finding Reality Through Dissociation" chronicles my struggle with my mental health, the end of my marriage, and struggle to stay alive. This is kind of a departure fo...

Re: Let It Be (cover)
Good job on a great song. Back in the day we got invited to play at a rather progressive church for some music program they were having. They wanted us to play Let It Be. We had to practice with their music director who would accompany us on piano. We put hours of practice into that song including ...

i did this last year but i thought you guys would like to hear it. It's kind of my own arrangement and style. The keyboard part isnt' fancy but I did my best. Solo is treading the line of the naked version, but not note for note. All is played & sung by me. Drums i programmed. https://helsinkiro...

Thanks all! I had some laying around handy, sprayed and worked into all the jacks, switches, and pots. Works like a dream and has the most beautiful clean tones!

NAD Roland Jazz Chorus 50
Received a text from a friends mom this morning that while cleaning out her house she found a guitar amp. I'm the only person she knows who plays guitar so she asked if I wanted it, of course I said yes. She dropped it off just a few minutes ago. It's a Roland Jazz Chorus 50. I don't know much about...

NGD Backlog (2+ years late..!)- acoustics, electrics, basses, 80s mij, oh my!
It's been a minute! The last NGD I posted was in April 2019, when I got a Dean from Hell for my birthday! How the times flies. I've been meaning to do a separate post for each of these...but life kept getting in the way. Anyway, here is all the NGDs I should have posted in the last 2 and a half year...

Smile (Mellow)
Another one from my upcoming 2nd album. This one is a lot more mellow than my usual output. I think it really shows my beatles and 90s alternative influences. https://soundcloud.com/helsinkirocks/smile-from-upcoming-2nd-album?si=56c650586a254705a42fa0e5e571f0e0&utm_source=clipboard&utm_mediu...

As some of you know, back in Feb I released my first solo album, I've been crunching away at album #2 and today I wrote what will be the final track on the album. It's still a rough mix. I wrote, and recorded it all today. It'll kick your ass. https://soundcloud.com/helsinkirocks/descent-into-madnes...

Re: Blue on Black (Cover/Jam)
Nice work. Loved the tones and thank you for not playing the solo note-for-note. People seem to disagree with me but, well... I've heard it. I'd rather listen to an interpretation than a hacked effort. I appreciate it! When I play live, I try to play the solos a bit more in line with the originals,...

I know previously Grover Jackson had always refused to authenticate the so-called "3rd prototype".
I didn't see any mention of it being verified though.
