Re: well, if lauramarie can reappear, so can I.
Heya Pesky••• I came back to AGF recently too and was wondering where you and a few others had gone etc. Not much going on with me, really… been playing my Pro Jet and Tele most often lately… though I have turned my JMJM, VM Jag and Mustang into partscasters, replacing and upgrading all sorts of thi...

Re: Buddha pickups
I had him make some vintage Mustang pickups for me about a year and a half ago.
They are everything I wanted, and the price was a bargain.

Re: "I could live the next 30 years without having to work..."
I think that the key to happiness is found in both gratitude and human connection.
I think this comes very naturally for some people. Some learn it. Some don’t.
For me, it’s a process I most often fail at.
But what do I know?

I’m in the middle of modding the heck out of my VM Jaguar… or I guess to be more accurate you could say building a parts Jaguar… VM neck, with the back deglossed/satinized…. Wilkinson locking tuners, new alder body painted charcoal frost… i have a new wiring harness, Q vintage correct pickups, stayt...

Re: NGD: Jag-u-wah
A good resolution. I love Jaguars, though I’m very much into the single coil approach for them. I tend to not feel too precious about most guitars, even signature models, and will mod them to my heart’s desire if I decide they are keepers. In fact, I just modded my JMJM to the point wherein all that...

@Cyphre @ILuvTeles @tony1852 You guys still have and use your Valeton Rushead Max gizmo? Now that the honeymoon is over, what do you think about it? I use mine often for quiet practicing on my VM Mustang... for which I normally use the cleanest settings possible… But it’s fun to experiment with the...

Re: Your Name and Avatar
“Cyphre” has been my online handle in video games and forums for over 20 years. I used to play “Rifts” tabletop RPG and it was the name for my “TechnoWizard” character.😅 I used it later in the “City of Heroes” MMORPG for my dual-pistol wielding super spy/agent character. I found the word (cipher) an...

Re: I Think I’ve Turned Into a “Strat Guy”
I’ve never really liked Strats... I found it’s looks unappealing. Then again, at one time I didn’t like Jaguars, Jazzmasters or Mustangs… and now I own all three. I also find it impossible to ignore that the majority of great guitarists either use a Strat primarily or have a Strat in their regular r...

I wouldn’t say I disliked it... it’s just not my genre I suppose. I appreciated the musicianship. The overall sound...

Re: SX Hawk Mods
I bought my P90 Mahogany Hawk about a year ago to be my cheap travel guitar. Did a few things to it initially to make it more playable, but didn’t change any parts. I really fell in love with playing it. Honestly, there wasn’t anything wrong with it, but I couldn’t shake the idea of changing the sa...

Re: Need suggestion on new headphone/practice amp
I had a VOX Lead headphone setup I used to practice with. It is no more. Looking for something I can practice on without disturbing anyone. I could get another VOX amplug 2, a Donner Mini Amp, or a Pocket POD. Any thoughts on these or other recommendations?? Thanks! Of course, I have zero experienc...

Re: Need suggestion on new headphone/practice amp
I have Vox and Joyo headphone amps and they work just fine for practicing quietly.
I also ordered these two yesterday from Amazon...
Just for kicks. We’ll see how they perform.

Re: Just because tele body build
I’ve been noodling around with my telecaster lately… I’ve decided I would really like belly and forearm cuts in it.... so much less comfy than my Jag or my jazzmaster. I wouldn’t have the foggiest idea how to get that done except to do it myself (and probably screw it up badly). And of course I’d ha...
